More ideas about rights: Civil Rights v. Civil Liberties Civil liberties are the rights that we have as citizens that are protected by the Constitution. Civil rights is the concept that every citizens should receive equal treatment under the law.

“Civil War” Amendments 13th Amendment Bans slavery 14th Amendment Defines citizenship – anyone born or naturalized in the U.S. “equal protection clause” – constitutional rights apply in the states 15th Amendment prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's "race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
