Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship FREE MONEY FOR COLLEGE The better you do the more you earn towards college. Make sure you are carrying a full academic schedule this year. 6 Credits Your KEES money depends on this! Provides scholarships to students who earn at least a 2.5 GPA each year they attend a certified Kentucky High School. Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES)
Extracurricular Activities & Clubs Get involved in extracurricular activities…at least one Extracurricular involvement is important and is associated with a higher grade point average Colleges look for “well rounded” individuals with a variety of experiences and interests Find clubs to join on the PLD Website
Begin Your College Search Create a list of colleges interested in attending Use the college search engines (see back of packet and guidance website http://blogs.fcps.net/pldguidance/ Visit college representative when they visit PLD’s CCC Visit college campuses when the opportunity arises Keep notes from all college visits Visit the college websites to learn admission requirements and procedures Know which colleges require SAT II subject tests and whether specific subjects are required Determine costs Look at scholarship opportunities available and make note of when to apply
