Curriculum for General Music, Grades K-2 By the end of Grade 2: Within the context of authentic musical experiences, students will be able to listen analytically, perform, create (compose, arrange, or improvise), represent and describe the dimensions of music with differentiated and progressive levels of independence, demonstrating understanding of why and how musicians use the dimensions to make cultural connections. Authentic musical experiences include the use of traditional, non-traditional, and electronic media sources. Meta - Dimensions Students function within the expressive and structural dimensions with emerging awareness of the meta-dimensional musical qualities and their connections to other disciplines.
