Technology Integration Workshop

Technology What is known: She knows of computers and internet. She knows of interviews. She knows of online hypermedia. What must be learned: How to do audio and video interviews. How to create websites. How to create online hypermedia environments.

Pedagogy What is known: English Secondary Education What must be learned: Technology- in cameras and voice recorders for interviews, and computers to create websites and hypermedia.

Content What is known: Writing Reading What must be learned: Digital language and digital literacy to know if the students are improving. Hypermedia to know if the students are using it right.

Context and Logistical Issues Ms. Chou needs to do a lot of research, learning, and planning for this lesson. She first needs to learn about hypermedia and digital literacy. She also needs to learn how to create videos and websites. Ms. Chou should recognize that just because a lot of her students are “digital natives” not all of them are, and there could be some who are not as digitally advanced. She must also think about the expenses involved. Some students may not have recorders or cameras or the money to go out and buy these things to do the interviews. Some students may not even have a computer in their homes. Also, when it comes to the interview, there may be some students who cannot go to a certain place to interview the person. They could be from a one parent household where it may be hard for the parent to find time to drive their child to an interview.
