Tech-Pack 4 a&b Week 11

Purpose The following reading given on the next slide is a scenario from “Integrating Educational Technology into Teaching,” 6th edition, by M. D. Roblyer and Aaron H. Doering. The following slides complete the assignment Tech Pack 4a and 4b on page 198 for week 11 of our ETEC 424 class. The standards and competencies are listed on the last slide.

Tech-Pack 4a Mrs. Chau… Tech-Pack components What is known
What must be learned Technology She has very little experience using hypermedia and creating videos, but she recognizes that it could help motivate students and improve their writing. She must learn from her friend how to use the appropriate materials needed and teach her students how to use these tools. She needs to learn the terms and programs that could be used in her classroom. Pedagogy She knows about audio and video recordings, but she does not know how to do them. She has a friend that will help her figure how to incorporate her ideas into her class. She must learn from her friend how to do audio and video presentations, what materials to use, and how much time to give students to complete assignments. She must also figure what the best technology methods and tools to use in her class would be. Content She knows the content of writing well but lacks knowledge of technology based content. She must learn how technology terms and programs work.

Tech-Pack 4b Some of the context and logistical issues that must be overcome to incorporate this strategy into her classroom are listed below. She must figure out when she will implement her plan and how much time to allot to this assignment. She must identify what materials will be needed and where they will come from. She must identify appropriate sources and people to interview. She must identify how long the interviews will be. She must identify appropriate computer programs to use and how she will monitor the use of technology. She must obtain permission from those being interviewed to post recordings and videos.
