A PROPER noun refers to a

A proper noun begins with a… If a proper noun has more than one word, be sure to begin both words with a capital letter!

If a noun ends in s, ss, or x, the plural is formed by adding… Examples… box: boxes mess: messes bus: buses

If a noun ends in ch, or sh, the plural is formed by adding… Examples… match: matches dish: dishes

If a noun ends in y, and is preceded by a consonant {example: fly} Examples… fly: flies penny: pennies

If a noun ends in y, and is preceded by a vowel {example: boy} Examples… boy: boys ray: rays

Most nouns that end in f or fe, make their plurals by Examples… wolf: wolves knife: knives One exception is the word roof, it forms its plural by adding s: roofs.
