Presentation transcript:

Evaporation Process by which water changes from a liquid to a gas, heat energy necessary, molecules excited

Sublimation Process by which solid changes to a gas without becoming a liquid first. Example: Dry Ice

Transpiration Water is absorbed by plants and tree and then evaporates into the atmosphere through their leaves

Process by which water vapor (gas) is changed into a liquid Condensation Process by which water vapor (gas) is changed into a liquid Ex. Clouds, Fog

Water released from clouds in the form of rain, sleet, snow, and hail Precipitation Water released from clouds in the form of rain, sleet, snow, and hail

Runoff Precipitation that doesn’t get absorbed into the soil or evaporate. Collects in rivers, lakes, ponds, and ocean

Infiltration The downward process of moving water from the land surface into soil or porous rock
