Wall Coverings Paint

Paint

Paint Latex/Water Based – Thick – one coat application Easy to clean up ½ the price of Oil Based Not as durable as Oil Based Fades easily

Paint Oil Based Tough Long lasting Resistant to wear and tear Cleans up nicely Requires special brushes and chemicals such as paint thinners.

Paint Finishes Flat/Matte This paint finish is usually used on interior walls. Does not reflect light Used to camouflage small bumps, cracks, or other imperfections. Does not clean very well, some paint may rub off. Used as ceiling paint.

“Flat” paint on ceiling

Paint Finishes Eggshell – Very low sheen. Has the appearance of an eggshell. Good for walls and holds up better with cleaning than a flat finish paint.

Eggshell

Paint Finishes Satin Smooth velvety look with a bit more gloss. Formulated to hold up to cleaning and light scrubbing. Good for Kids’ room walls, kitchens, or bathrooms. Areas which get a lot of traffic.

Satin Finish

Paint Finishes Semi-Gloss Used on doors, trim, and cabinets in kitchens, and bathrooms. Easily cleaned and has a nice subtle shine, without being to glitzy. Poorly prepared surfaces will show.

Semi-Gloss Finish

Paint Finishes High-Gloss Reflective quality. Shiny finish mimics the look of enamel or plastic. Magnifies imperfections. Use in contemporary settings.
