District Deputy Organizational Meeting Joe Ramirez Regional Growth Director 2018

The District Deputy Position Key position in the Order. You represent in your District Supreme Knight State Deputy

Key Job Responsibilities Main responsibility is to work with your councils to help them achieve their goals. Other responsibilities Mentor councils share with them best practices. Work with councils to remove road blocks. Share Success stories from other councils.

Common Problems Communication Accountability Two way street Accountability Councils report to you You report to State & Supreme Not engaging with Councils Encourage them Keep them in a Positive Attitude

Expectations & Best Practices Make frequent and effective communication a top priority Hold at least 2 District Meetings per year Have a firm agenda for these meetings Attend council meetings and programs regularly Encourage councils to develop a written strategic plan Hold council leadership accountable for objectives

Expectations & Best Practices Conduct regular training sessions on recruitment/retention Ensure that no council drops a member that you are not aware of first Ensure that all councils are participating in Faith In Action programs Focus on councils that are not recruiting Ensure that council leadership has strong relationships with pastors Promote Incentives (District, Council, Recruiter incentives)

Expectations & Best Practices Encourage/Support council recruiting efforts to increase Hispanic/Ethnic and Young Adult members Create a “ YAMT” Young Adult Membership Team. 2 Man concept on “ECA” Every Council Active

Expectations & Best Practices Be Proactive on getting councils to send you schedules of Admission Degrees and Church Drives. Encourage councils to have a Council PR/Communications Director and promote the good work that councils are doing at the parish and local community levels Online Membership – promote actively.
