Early Life In 1840 Chief Joseph the Second was born in the Wallowa Valley. He was known as Young Joseph because his father, Chief Joseph the First, had the same baptized name.

Later Life When Chief Joseph was 33, the Nez Perce tribe got sent to a reservation which is now known as the state of Oklahoma. Chief Joseph later died of broken heart.
