Myeik (Mergui) Archipelago Is one of SE Asias last truly undisturbed tropical island paradises. There are perhaps 800 islands just off the southern Taninthayi (Tenasserim) coast. The Myeik archipelago is accessible by boats from the ancient towns of Myeik and Kawthaung. The biggest island, Lumpi ( National Marine Park ) is about 90 miles and 60 miles away from these towns respectively. From Gulf of Mottama to the mouth of the Packchan river, about 1200 km. Home for Irrawaddy dolohin, Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins,Spinner dolphins, Pantropical spotted dolphins, Finless porpoises and Brydes whales.
