EVENTS LEADING TO THE WRITING OF THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION 1. Spain conquers the Indian civilization of Mexico, Central and South Americas.

Our United States Constitution is the oldest, currently in use, form of a nation’s government in the world today!!! It consists of 7 Articles or sections which explain our United States or federal government. The three BIGGIES are: Article One- The Legislative Branch Article Two- The Executive Branch Article Three- The Judicial Branch

Article 4- Relations Among the States States must cooperate with each other including laws, boundaries and extradition of people charged with crimes. Article 5- Amending the Constitution… 2/3rds of BOTH houses must agree or ¾ of the states

Article 6- National Supremacy- The Constitution is the SUPREME LAW of the land and is recognized as the primary law U.S. citizens obey first….then our state government. Article 7- Ratification- It took 9 of the 13 states to approve this Constitution. 40 colonial leaders signed the Constitution upon its ratification….
