3 Constitution The Constitution is the basic law of the United States Its job is to provide a framework for our government. The Constitution is divided into 7 articles Article I- Deals with the Congress Article II- Deals with the Executive Branch Article III- Deals with the Supreme Court Article IV- The relationship between state and federal government Article V- How to change the Constitution Article VI- General Provisions for the government Article VII- How the Constitution will go into effect.

4 Bill of Rights 1 st 10 amendments to the Constitution, designed to protect the rights of the people. Amend. 1:Freedom of religion, speech, press, and assembly Amend. 2:Right to bear arms Amend. 3:No quartering soldiers Amend. 4:Protection from unreasonable search and seizure Amend. 5:Rights of accused persons Amend. 6:Right to a Fair and Speedy Trial

5 Amend. 7:Right to trial by jury in civil cases Amend. 8:Freedom from excessive bail Amend. 9:Powers reserved to the people Amend. 10:Powers reserved to the states
