What Is Science? An organized way of using evidence to learn about the natural world. Science Rocks!!

What is Biology? Bio = life logy = suffix used in the description of the sciences The Study of Life

Why are you here? Beginning Science gave us: Food Clothing Homes But improving science has now given us Better clothing Better homes Better Health care An overall better quality of life

How Do Scientists Work? Scientific thinking begins with observations, or gathering information in an orderly way. This information is called data Scientists use data to make inferences, or logical conclusions based on prior knowledge or experience.

What do you see?

Why I want you to be here To gain knowledge and understanding of how to better care for yourself. Learn to better care for the life that we co-exist with in this world. Because it makes up most of our life sustaining resources.

What is the “Scientific Method”? A scientific investigation involves a series of steps. Ask a question. Form a hypothesis. Set up a controlled experiment. Record and analyze results. Draw a conclusion.

What is a Scientific Theory? A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on knowledge that has been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experimentation.
