LRO SRR Planned for 8/16-18/2005

LRO SRR Purpose & Objectives To assure that the objectives and requirements of the LRO mission are understood and that the proposed approach is reasonable and realizable. Demonstrate that the mission requirements have been defined and allocated to the mission elements, decomposed across the mission elements, and have traceability back to the Level 1 LRO Mission Requirements. Demonstrate the LRO team understands the project level and system level requirements. Objectives To confirm the system-level requirements meet the mission requirements, the system requirements satisfy the measurement investigation constraints, and the system level requirements have been correctly allocated to the subsystems and decomposed. Demonstrate that requirements have been defined, allocated and decomposed adequately to enable the project to proceed with preliminary design.

LRO SRR Scope This review encompasses the primary LRO mission. The review addresses the flow-down and allocation of the LRO Mission Requirements (levied by NASA HQ/ESMD) to the LRO Project/System level and the further flow-down to the driving subsystem requirements. The ESMD controlled LRO Mission Requirements are not reviewable. Cost elements are out-of-scope for this review. The emphasis of this review is on the understanding, allocation, decomposition, and reasonableness of the requirements Current design concepts will be presented only to the extent necessary to demonstrate the above. Project management and system engineering processes will be presented and reviewed only to the extent necessary to show that adequate controls are in place, or planned, to ensure the requirements can be translated into a sound preliminary design.
