Very high Broadband There is no single definition of “Superfast broadband” over the world: while some operators are already preparing their first 5G commercial launches, others will look at densifying their 4G coverage or deploying FTTH. Whatever the starting point, the benefits of proposing faster connectivity are undisputed: a report by Ericsson and the Imperial College of London has revealed that, as mobile broadband penetration increases by 10 percent, it causes a rise of up to 2.8% in Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The desire for fast and reliable connectivity is growing worldwide: consumers aspire to have smoother access to digital services: video or music streaming, online gaming, IPTV. Enterprises need higher-performance bandwidth to accelerate their business. It opens the door to more national and international business. It brings agility and productivity gains via the use of new services like cloud computing or video calling. It makes digitalization a reality and enables new business models. As for Governments, they too have a vested interest in making fast, reliable and affordable connectivity available to their citizens. It enables e-learning, remote health services and smart cities. Superfast broadband is seen as the mandatory foundation to long-term economic and social development.   Superfast broadband profitability requires careful planning Operators who can provide the right network at the right location and the right price will benefit in many ways: more customers, less churn, and the ability to develop value-added services generating a higher ARPU. Such long term investments require a clear strategic vision to get a return on investment. It is critical to anticipate both business and technical aspects in order to ensure that the commercial proposal will meet the market’s expectations in terms of service, price and QoS. Technical choices must be adapted to the operator’s strategy now and in the future. Deployment must take place in minimum time to reduce time-to-market. Superfast Broadband deployment key success factors

Some of our recent success stories We ensure right-sizing and quality all along your project lifecycle PLAN Anticipate your revenue streams and plan projects Our objective here is to understand the market’s potential and design the network that fits both your strategic ambition and your customers’s expectations: Geomarketing study / Market analysis (size, needs, price sensitivity, etc.) Network & services strategy & planning IT & Network master plan Technical architecture design Costing Business Plan setup or review 1   PROCURE Reduce risks and optimize TCO The choice of vendors is critical. We help you define your sourcing strategy and pilot your RFP from specifications to the final selection: Sourcing strategy RFP / RFI specifications Optimization of bill of quantities Technical and financial analysis of proposals Support to negotiation and contract finalization 2 BUILD Shorten time to market and control cost of build We efficiently pilot the deployment of your network to ensure a smooth and rapid delivery together with the highest quality of service Roll out / swap project management Fieldwork and installation supervision / management of contractors Quality controls Handover to operations (trainings, operations & maintenance organization, processes and documentation) 3 OPERATE Grow your customer base and maximize satisfaction After deployment come the challenges of commercializing your offers and operating the network. Late delivery, insufficient quality or ill adapted offers can greatly hinder your TCO. We help you maximize network QoS. We can also review and adapt your whole marketing mix: Audit / optimization of service catalogues, distribution, operations & maintenance, end-to-end QoS Network re-engineering 4 Some of our recent success stories ASIA 13 million USD savings through equipment decommissioning 3G+ strategy & network rollout 3G+ business strategy definition, 3G network engineering review, network roll-out and project management MIDDLE EAST 35 000 connections 470 km of optical fiber in only 5 months FTTH network design and deployment Designed and deployment of the national FTTH network for the local regulator. ASIA Improvement of installation and troubleshooting processes and subcontractors’ activities Broadband service quality assessment A 10-week assessment that resulted in a detailed actions plan identifying quick-wins and long-term recommendations AFRICA 15% saving on the initial value of the contract (100 million Euros) Network design review network re-design, RFP specifications, optimization of the bill of quantities and RFP management www.sofrecom.com
