What cities can host the Olympics?

What cities have hosted the Olympic Games? Open Google My Maps Use https://www.olympic.org/olympic-games to find the locations of the summer and winter Olympic games Add place marks onto your map for the locations of the games. Use a different symbol for winter and summer Olympics. Colour code the place marks according to the decade in which they took place.

Analysing maps – how do we look for patterns? Where in the world are the host cities located? Start large scale and zoom in!! North / South of the equator? Continents? Countries (give examples) Types of cities (capital cities, are they coastal, inland?) Extension: Have the patterns changed in recent decades?
