What are the achievement levels for Georgia Milestones? Beginning Learners: Students do not demonstrate proficiency (Needs substantial academic support to prepare for the next grade) Developing Learners: Partial proficiency (Needs additional academic support for success in next grade) Proficient Learners: Proficiency in knowledge and skills (Prepared for next grade) Distinguished Learners: Advanced proficiency (Well prepared for next grade)

Promotion/Retention In grades three, five, and eight, Georgia Milestones results inform promotion/retention decisions in: Reading (grades 3, 5, & 8)

What should I do now? Work daily with your child on third grade’s reading and writing goals outlined in your School-Parent compact Make sure your child is practicing typing Stay in contact with your child’s teacher to know your child’s academic progress Make plans now to attend the next Milestones workshop on January 26, 2017 at either 9am, 12:15pm or 6pm Don’t stress about the test!!
