3 Milestones…what are they?
Students in grades 3 through 12 will take an end-of-grade assessments in the content areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies.  

4 Our students are ready! Students have been working towards curriculum mastery all year long! Students have been using ChromeBooks and computer labs in class often Teachers have studied and use Milestone Achievement Level Descriptors when planning instruction. Students are being trained on the format and will take a secure practice test next week.

6 Milestone Results PROFICIENT LEARNERS BEGINNING LEARNERS
Have the knowledge and skills to be successful in this subject. Are prepared for the next grade level or course. DISTINGUISHED LEARNERS Have advanced knowledge and skills in this subject. Are well prepared for the next grade level or course. BEGINNING LEARNERS Lack important knowledge and skills to be successful in this subject. Need substantial support to be ready for the next grade level or course. DEVELOPING LEARNERS Have some of the knowledge and skills necessary in this subject. Need additional support to be prepared for the next grade level or course.

7 Score Reports…What do they look like?
Includes: Achievement Level (1-4) Domain Category Performance Comparison to school, system, and state National Percentile Rank Lexile (Language Arts) Carroll County Schools Score Report Video

8 Retention and Re-Tests
3rd & 5th Grade are benchmark years for retention/promotion _____________________________ Students must score “on/above grade level” on the reading section of the ELA test. Math students that score in the beginning level” must retest. Re-tests will be the last week of school

9 What can I do? Before the tests: Tip Sheet
Visit to complete a practice test with your student and understand the test platform Review the study guides found on -Instruction-and- Assessment/Assessment/Pages/EO G-Study-Resource-Guides.aspx with your student Reach out to teachers about student needs During the tests: Have students at school on time and avoid checking out on test days Eat a good breakfast Help students get plenty of rest Help students stay positive Remind your student that they are well prepared Encourage students to do their best
