Lacrosse Jackson Lacrosse Lacrosse, considered to be America's first sport, was born of the North American Indian, christened by the French, and adapted and raised by the Canadians. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing team sports in the United States. Youth participation in the sport has grown over 500% since 1999 to nearly 4000,000. Fastest growing sport over the last ten years at the NCAA level. There are more than 500 college club programs, including nearly 200 women's teams that compete at the US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates level.  Jackson Lacrosse Started in 2002 by Tom Sharac/Jim McCurnin/John Fruzynski, after working with Toms River program. Then Nick Caruso and Lori Johnson, took over the Club for several years. The Club then went to many of the current personnel. The 1st year program consisted of 20 players. 2012 Roster is approximately 106 Boys & 85 Girls!

Jackson Lacrosse Club Philosophy Jackson Lacrosse Club (JLC) is a not-for-profit whose principle aims and objectives are to encourage, promote and foster the growth of Lacrosse for the youth of Jackson. JLC will provide a quality Lacrosse program including skill development and competition for youth groups of various ages. JLC will solicit moral and financial help from citizens and businesses to fund its programs. JLC will attempt to maintain an equitable distribution of playing time for all participants. Lacrosse is a sport requiring a fair amount of technical skill. At the youth level, hard body contact/checking is not allowed by rule. Lacrosse at any level however, remains a “contact” sport. Players will encounter body contact and possibility of getting hit by the Lacrosse ball.

To help achieve basic skill levels and to maintain safety, JLC coaches are committed to providing as many structured practices as possible. In return, JLC will require a basic, ongoing commitment from participants and their parents. Attend practices on a regular and ongoing basis. Players must practice stick skills on their own. Players MUST pay attention to the coaches and field of play while at practice or games. Players MUST maintain a minimum level of “interested participation” while on the field of play. If player cannot maintain this minimum level, JLC coaches will ask the player to sit, seeing less playing time than others.
