An Introducation to ResearcherID ——A Platform for the Global Scholarly Research Community

I. What is ResearcherID? ResearcherID is a unique identifier assigned to enable researchers to upload and manage their publication lists, identify potential collaborators, and explore collaboration and exchange within the community. Your Researcher ID number and URL

II. Two Options to Register for ResearcherID 1. If you are a registered user of Web of Science, after login, click on “My Tools”-“ResearcherID” to register Researcher ID.

2. If you are not a registered user of Web of Science, you can register via http://www.researcherid.com/

III. Funtiona(1)——Add Publications to Publication List Recommend uploading by searching Web of Science Select one of the three options to add publications: 1.1 Upload by searching Web of Science; 1.2 Upload by searching EndNote online; 1.3 Upload by using reference management software such as EndNote, RefMan.

You can view your publication list after adding publications

Funtion(2)——View Citation Metrics and Collaboration Network View your citation metrics Total Articles in Publication List Articles with Citation Data Sum of the Times Cited Average Citations per Article h-index

Collaboration Network: Use graph to display the researcher's top co-authors by research areas, countries/territories and institutions.

Citing Articles Network: To view the top authors that have cited this researcher's publication(s) and their research areas.

Funtion(3)——ResearcherID information is ORCID compliant ORCID: Open Researcher and Contributor ID is a 16-digit number with slashes,e.g. 0000-0003-0443-6955 Heat and fluid flow in high-power LED

ResearcherID vs ORCID ResearcherID ORCID Created by Apply to Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) A non-profit organization, cofounded by influential publishers, research institutions and funding organizations. Apply to Web of Science platform Database platform and others ID example U-3439-2017 0000-0002-2840-1880 Advantages A unique identifier on Web of Science, able to analyze authors' publications and create citation metrics. A unique identifier for each researcher, can be used as one's scholar ID, can simplify processes of journal article manuscript submission.
