We've not traditionally put our resources into NAEP We've not traditionally put our resources into NAEP. We're starting to do that. Perception Problem with NAEP. Principals and superintendents need encouraging to the see relevance and value of NAEP. Strong PR push (TV, social media, radio, etc.) about to start now that resources are available to make this a priority. Year of NAEP

Incorporating NAEP framework into our Course of Study Professional Learning Unit (PLU) to teachers, principals, coordinators MEGA: Booth and NAEP 101 Presentations  Survey to principals and test coordinators for PLU using the data compiled to make future decisions Currently there's training for system test coordinators on how to use NAEP Question and NAEP Data Tools.

June 21:  The following individuals came from NAGB to Alabama’s School Superintendent Association Conference and spoke to all of Alabama’s local superintendents about NAEP: Terry Mazany, Chairman of NAGB Lisa Stooksberry, Deputy Executive Director of NAGB Peggy Carr, Acting Commissioner of the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES) Chasidy White, NAGB board member (8th grade teacher representative on NAGB) In May 2018, NAGB will host its quarterly board meeting in Montgomery, Alabama.  All board members from across the nation, including all NAGB staff, contractors, and NCES staff will be in attendance.

NAEP Questions Tool archived questions that show teachers how to make mock tests, and tell what types of questions they'll see. Allows teachers to create lessons from these items. NAEP Data Tool Track and compare with other states. Essential, given the changes to the strategic plan to rank in the highest 50 percent. how we compare to other states is essential to meeting the strategic goal

The average ACT composite score in Alabama will be 22 by 2030
