Learning out comes UCLan You will …. be able to understand formal & informal spoken English at normal speed. be able to hold a sustained conversation in English, with confidence. have developed skills for reading/understanding a text from an academic text book . be able to record information effectively in note form from a variety of sources such as lectures, seminars, talks, books etc. be aware of the requirements of academic tasks related to your chosen subject area.

You will … be able to plan and carry out increasingly complex tasks in English – e.g. formal/informal letter writing, essay/report writing, oral presentations. have developed increasing confidence and willingness to participate effectively in group work and discussion/debate activities. have improved your confidence and ability in using English, including English for Academic Purposes.
