Presentation transcript:

IEC Maintenance Committee Report IEEE - NO IEC - NO The proposal for the first maintenance cycle of a dual logo document assumes the timetable of the IEEE Standards cycle. For example, IEEE Std 488.2-1992 was reaffirmed in 2004. Therefore, the document must be reviewed by 2009. Of course, if the need arises, a document can be revised earlier. Once a PAR is initiated to revise an IEC-IEEE standard, the Program Manager, International Standards Programs will notify the IEC Central Office, the IEC Technical Committee Chair and the IEC Technical Committee Secretary that the IEEE would like to revise the document. In regards to the Joint Working Group, both organizations have mechanisms in place to deal with any imbalances that may occur. YES IEC/IEEE Joint Working Group

IEC IEEE National Bodies who are Participants or Observers of the TC Comment on Draft WG Ballot Has consensus been reached? There could be several iterations of the draft, depending on how many times the cycle is followed to reach consensus. The IEC and IEEE ballots must be coordinated in such a way that the closing date for the ballots are the same. All National Bodies Vote on Draft

The IEC TC/SC may take the following decisions on the draft: IEEE Final Draft from Sponsor Balloting. Once the project is approved by the IEEE-SASB, it is forwarded to the IEC for a final vote. The IEC TC/SC may take the following decisions on the draft: When the approval criteria are met, submit the draft, as modified, as a Final Draft International Standard When no negative votes have been received, proceed directly to publication When the approval criteria are not met: Circulate a revised draft for voting by all national bodies, or Circulate a revised committee draft for comments, or Discuss the draft and comments at the next meeting
