What is the Senior ACT Assessment? Designed to assess high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.

What is the Senior ACT Assessment? The tests cover four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading and science Optional Writing test - not all colleges require Total possible score of 36

What is the Senior ACT Assessment? For state and district reporting, most recent administration is reported for seniors. Change two years ago, just college bound seniors in 2015 2016 and forward, all seniors had score due to 2015 ACT state testing Students can designate which administration they want reported to colleges (cannot break apart) Reports represent performance of graduating seniors from 2017

What is the Senior ACT Assessment? Cost: $54.50 Waivers available through ACT Free/Reduced Lunch: 2 free administrations Process set up by AARE/SNS/Guidance Services Free transmissions of scores to colleges

Future Fluctuations Starting with the 2017-2018 school year, students will select whether they want to take the ACT, the SAT or neither during the school day for the state college readiness testing requirement. Starting next year, we will eliminate year to year score comparisons.

Richland One – SAT 2017 Total – Preliminary: 1017* *The College Board began administering the redesigned SAT in March 2016. The total score ranges from 400 to 1600. Because of the change in the SAT assessment, 2017 scores cannot be compared to scores from previous years.

Promising Practices to Support AP and IB Enrollment and Success Identify potential AP/IB talent to expand access. Vertically align curricula and include more problem-based learning requirements. Provide student support before and during enrollment. Provide teacher professional development and support teacher unit planning/collaboration. Offer courses with highest probability of success. Ensure components of IB program are in place to support both the Diploma Program and the Career Program. Build the IB Middle Years Program.

Strategies to Support Success on ACT and SAT Ensure rigor of curricula supports college readiness. Teach students test-taking skills. Expand dual credit offerings. Provide test preparation support through Triumph TCA and Naviance.
