Vocabulary Week 2

Scientific Inquiry The ongoing process of discovery in science

Volume How much space a liquid takes up

Dependent Variable It is something that depends on other factors (Outcome of an experiment)

Mass How much matter an object contains

Density How heavy something is compared to its size

Weight The measure of the force that gravity puts on an object

Evidence Serves to either support or counter (disproves) a scientific theory or hypothesis.

Independent Variable It is a variable that stands alone and isn't changed by the other variables you are trying to measure.
