Housing Options Refocuses existing services & resources Is a person centred service delivery model Focuses investment on training & partnerships Cost efficient Has a proven track record in England Scottish Government: “An approach to preventing homelessness which….”

Housing Options Should Include… Staying in current accommodation Owner occupation/ shared equity Mortgage to rent Council housing Housing Association housing Adaptations/ Telecare Solutions Private renting (including Deposit Guarantee scheme) Cross boundary – all tenure options Supported accommodation Making a homelessness application

West Hub Common Definition… The best way to maximise customer choice in where they want to live across the West of Scotland Housing Options is….

Housing Options is NOT… A service for homeless applicants only or focused on: Housing Options is NOT… screening applicants to gate-keep services preventing customers from making a homeless application the responsibility of a single agency making an application for social housing only a tick box process change for changes sake

A service for every customer who makes a housing enquiry & is focused on: Housing Options IS… sustaining housing status & preventing housing crisis empowering customers to make informed choices identifying all options across all tenures meeting all housing and underlying needs through strong partnerships assisting customers to realise their housing aspirations

Where the Hub is in relation to the Charters Outcomes? Have agreed that we need a joint performance monitoring framework Monitoring framework will be designed to benchmark, monitor and record the outcomes Our “Partner Protocol “ identified the following joint agreed outcomes and these represented the organising principle for the Performance Framework

Core Indicators The incidence of housing crisis reducing, evidenced by falling homeless presentations (Prevent 1) A more successful operation of housing waiting lists, evidenced by reduced numbers of applications and reduced waiting times The delivery of sustainable housing solutions, evidenced by falling repeat homelessness presentations, increasing customer satisfaction levels and more positive outcomes being achieved for customers; and The maximisation of existing resources, evidenced by the delivery of change driven by well trained , confident and motivated staff;and the delivery of strong partnerships to meet the relevant needs of every customer
