Accessing CSJ’s newest online resource. How to use ebooks Accessing CSJ’s newest online resource.

What you will learn: What is an ebook? How to find ebooks using the CSJ online catalog. How to create a free ebrary account and how to read ebooks on your computer.

But first - What is ??? Ebrary is a multidisciplinary digital library that has over 52,000 ebooks. You can search it by author, title or subject to get instant access to electronic books for your research papers. Subjects covered in this database range from books on anthropology to religion, philosophy and psychology. Ebrary is now part of the CSJ online catalog, located on our website under Library Services, Find a book.

What is an ebook? An ebook or electronic book is a book published in an electronic format instead of being published on paper. Ebooks contain the same information as if the book was printed. This is considered a book source, not a web source. You read an ebook digitally on your computer.

How do you use ebooks? When you see this symbol in the CSJ online catalog, you will know that the title which follows is an ebook. Don’t worry, you will be able to read the entire book on your computer. Click on the title, to get a description of the book. If you decide you want to read it, go to the bottom of the page, and click on its url address. ex: http://site.ebrary.com/lib/saintjoseph/Doc?id=10232827
