Calendar Events: Birthdays: What does all that mean to a preschooler....... We are working setting the foundation for future math success.  By providing experiences in which the children are able to add to sets or take away from sets they are learning the concepts of addition and subtraction.  Through these activities the children see that the number or the quantity  changes as they add to or take away.    They are learning to look at sets of objects and see not only how many are there but also which group has more, less, or equal amounts.  They are also learning that sets can be broken down into groups and groups can be put together to make a whole.   Letter People: Ms. F, Ms. J Calendar Events: Please watch for information in regards to Christmas happenings from your child’s teachers. Last day for Children for Christmas break is Dec. 17 – Jan 3rd Tornado Bucks Store Shopping- Dec.10th from 9:00 -5:30 Vocabulary we encourage you to use to go with number operations:  more, less, few, fewer, fewest, equal, most, and least. Birthdays: Nature R. Vyktor S. Dionte W. Braxton P. Kendall C. Savannah P. Laila T. Sidney W. Anthony B. Samuel R. Math Tidbit: Number Operations Big Ideas: 1) Sets can be changed by adding items  or by taking some away 2) Sets can be compared using the attribute of numerosity, and ordered by more than, less than, and equal to. 3) A quantity can be decomposed into equal or unequal parts: the parts can be composed to form the whole
