Purpose Begin preparation for Senior Culminating Presentations Overview of required presentation components Review two Class of 2016 sample presentations Important Reminders

The Presentation The presentation will be to a small panel of ~ 3 to 5 adults. Community members, a teacher or counselor, and other staff members Seniors should present themselves professionally, as in a job interview. Professional dress and behavior Well organized Effective communication The presentation will demonstrate college/career readiness and preparation for life after high school

Important Reminders Job Shadow or Career Project due Jan. 11th! If not complete, U (Unsatisfactory) for Semester 1 Advisory Must be completed in order to graduate Advisory Portfolio All requirements are due April 12th Typed resume 20 documented hours of community service 4 Year Course Plan - from Class of 2017 Google Classroom Grad Requirements Checklist & Transcript Seniors may not schedule the required practice presentation, until the Advisory Teacher has signed off on the portfolio. Job Shadow or Career Projects not completed by 1/11 must be completed prior to the Practice Presentations, and are required components of the Advisory Portfolio.

Practice Presentations - Required Sign up on April 12th, once the Advisory Portfolio is signed off by Advisory Teacher The Practice Presentations will be on April 20th Sign up with a partner from Advisory, you will provide constructive feedback to each other The Presentation should be fully completed for the practice This is a Dress Rehearsal

Senior Culminating Presentation Timeline Senior Culminating Practice Presentations April 20th Same time as student led conferences for grades 9 to 11 Final presentation times will be scheduled by the counseling office - athletics/activities will be considered Senior Culminating Presentations April 28th - Early Release Day Planned for the early afternoon – more info to follow 1st and 2nd semester Advisory grade S/U grade on final transcript Each advisory teacher will not be able to see all of their students.

Senior Culminating Presentation Use PowerPoint or Prezi for both the Practice & Final presentation. It is okay to have note cards if needed Total time must be 15-20 minutes Final Presentations not meeting standard must be redone - graduation requirement

Senior Culminating Presentation Introduction Introduce yourself to the panel Briefly describe the purpose of your presentation, which is to answer the three guiding questions: Who am I as a person and as a learner? Where am I going? How am I going to get there? (Approximately 2 minutes)
