What’s next?

The Presentation, March 24 th  All seniors will present their senior project on Friday, March 24 th.  On March 9th, you will receive an appointment time & room number.  Please arrive 15-20 minutes early & report to the library to sign in.  Bring a back up of your presentation in case your thumb drive doesn’t work that day, or if the file goes corrupt.

What is expected?  Arrive well rested, dress in business casual, and bring your project and portfolio.  Your panel will score 3 major rubrics;  Portfolio  Presentation  Product (Service, Creative, Research)  You will have 20 minutes to present to your 3 assigned teachers about the entire project.

The Research Project Those who are writing the 9-12 page research paper should bring TWO copies. Include one copy in your Portfolio, and a second copy to be graded in the library that day. You will receive information about the grading process for the Research product on March 2.

The Service Project Your Experience Log is your most important component of your Portfolio. It shows your 50 hours (the panel will add it up!) and MUST have a signature (with name printed as well) of an administrator at your service location. Panelists enjoy seeing pictures of you during your service as well. If you have NOT reached 50 hours by 3/24, you will still complete your Presentation on 3/24! You will need to follow up with Mrs. Sharkey after Spring Break.

The Creative Project Be prepared to bring in your creative product to share with the teacher panel. If you need a special room location to accommodate your product, let Mrs. Sharkey know by February 26 th. Don’t forget to include your Experience Log and any related pictures/documents to show all your hard work.

Presentation Considerations  You will present your senior project to a panel of 3-5 faculty members.  Dress in casual business attire.  Act and speak appropriately for a presentation.  PowerPoints are NOT REQUIRED, but recommended to help keep you on track.

What knowledge or experience were you hoping to gain from your project? – A conclusion

Presentation Guidelines  Your speaking time should take about 20 minutes of the 30 minute appointment block.  Speak clearly and professionally.  Be prepared to answer questions after your presentation.  Make sure you’ve rehearsed.  Pictures, pictures, pictures! Your panel of teachers wants to see that you had a memorable and worthwhile experience

When you are finished speaking, You will leave the room for 5 minutes so the panel can score your presentation, portfolio, and project. A teacher will call you back into the room to find out if you passed or if you need to revise and resubmit any parts. If you need to revise work, you may check in at the library to find an available computer. You will keep your Portfolio with you, regardless.

WOW! Students who have done exceptional work throughout their entire Senior Project may be nominated for a WOW! Scholarship. Your panel will let you know if you are nominated, and you will receive a letter when we return from Spring Break regarding the next steps.
