The Center’s Mission The Penn State Justice Center for Research bridges the gap between research and practice, fosters a rigorous research agenda that advances criminological theory and criminal justice policy, and uses an engaged university model to transfer criminological knowledge into the practitioner and policy communities. Located within the College of the Liberal Arts Supports faculty and student research Connects scholars to agency partners and vice versa

Integrated Data System SSRI-led initiative to consolidate individual-level state agency records Intent to include CJ agencies and criminal justice outcomes (PSP, PADOC, PCS) Opioid crisis as organizing example Currently working with government relations to propose to executive and legislative branches May result in future (joint) funding opportunities and data resources

Graduate Research Award Goal: Support promising graduate student research (MA or Phd) in the area of criminal justice. Award: $2000 summer funding for up to two students Application details released Fall, 2017, with a deadline of 15 Jan 2018. Awardees will present their research in a criminology forum.
