Organization Top 10 Ways to be organized

1. Use your agenda daily Write your assignment down in your agenda. Check with StudentVue to make sure you know when you have an assignment and when it is due.

2. Prepare – have necessary Materials Come to class prepared with class materials, homework, pencils, pens, notebooks, etc.

3. Keep your locker and Backpack clean Which locker will help you be more successful? Clean out your locker on a regular basis.

4. Color Code Folders and Binders For each subject use coordinating colors of folders and binders.

5.Maintain a homework space and study style What type of learner are you? Visual Learner Auditory Learner Kinesthetic Learner Have needed supplies

6.Be ready for school every day Check your backpack for homework and materials needed for the day. Tips: Get a good night’s sleep Eat breakfast Reduce stress – breathe, relax, don’t rush

7. Prioritize – decide what is important Make a list of what you have to do and do the most important things first.

8. Manage your homework and activities Balance school work and activities. Make the necessary time to fit in school work while enjoying your activities. If you become too stressed you may need to look to see if you have the right balance between activities and school work for you.

9. Plan for long term projects Plan ahead Do small chunks of the assignment each day/week Don’t wait until the last minute – don’t procrastinate!

10. Listen and Ask questions Be an active listener – pay attention, focus, engage Ask questions when necessary - in class, before school, during resource.

Goal sETTING: Turn to today in your agenda. On the top of the page where it says GOAL, write an ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL for 2nd quarter. Take a moment to share your goal with two classmates.

GIVING THANKS ACTIVITY In at least ten of the turkey feathers on your Giving Thanks Turkey, write something for which you are thankful. Color/decorate your turkey.
