Tribes of Texas By Brent

Karankawas They were cannibals. They were the tallest of the Indians. They covered themselves with alligator grease to ward off mosquitos.

Apaches They lived on the Great and Central Plains. They hunted buffalo, deer, bear,rabbits, and did some gathering.

Comanches They lived in Southwestern Oklahoma on the Great Plains. They were Great Horsemen.

Wichitas The Wichitas were relatives of the Caddos but spoke a different dialect.

Jumanos They lived in the Mts. and Basins Region along the Rio Grande River, and desert
