THE MEETING FOR ACTIVITY REPORT OF THE CO-OPERATION BETWEEN THE MEDICAL DANANG FOUNDATION- SWITZERLAND AND DANANG HOSPITAL SINCE 2006 Da Nang 17th June 2013

Dear Dr Toendury, the representative of Medical Danang foundation of Switzerland. Dr Thanh, the director of Danang hospital. All colleagues. Authorized by director of Danang hospital, the gastrointestinal department has welcomed and worked with Dr Toendury, the representative of Medical Danang foundation of Switzerland for six years ( Since October 2006 ). During this period of time our department has received much support from the foundation and got good results

Training : Gastrointestinal doctors and nurses come to our department twice a year, each time they stay here 4 weeks to train to our staffs about the technique of diagnostic and treatment endoscopy, anesthesia in GI endoscopy as well as abdominal ultrasound. Giving the scholarship to Dr Nguyen Van Xung for studying about the GI endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound in Switzerland.

Training : Gastrointestinal doctors and nurses come to our department twice a year, each time they stay here 4 weeks to train to our staffs about the technique of diagnostic and treatment endoscopy, anesthesia in GI endoscopy as well as abdominal ultrasound. Giving the scholarship to Dr Nguyen Van Xung for studying about the GI endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound in Switzerland.

Equipments : The foundation has sponsored many useful equipments such as : Endoscopy processor, 4 colonoscopies and 3 gastroscopies of Fujinon company. Proctoscope, rubber band ligation and coagulation for internal hemorrhoids treatment. Polypectomy instruments. Doppler ultrasound machine (New Siemens) + black and white ultrasound machine (Second hand).

Equipments : 5. Cleaning and disinfection of equipments for gastroscopies and colonoscopies. 6. C-arm X ray machine and 6 lead aprons. 7. 2 computers, colour canon printer and software results. 8. Biopsy forceps. 9. HP test ( Clotest ). 10. Propofol and Aethoxysklerol drug. 11. 4 Trolleys. 12. Hepatitis B Vaccin for all staffs of Danang Hospital

In general there is no difference between gastroscopy and colonoscopy by age group, in which age group 41-60 accounted for nearly 50%.

The number of gastro-coloscopic cases per year There have had a remarkable increase the number of endoscopic cases since 2010.

We have been conducted GI endoscopy with anesthesia (Propofol) since july 2010. Until now, there are more than 90% of patients done GI endoscopy with anesthesia.

Classification of lesions by Gastroscopy Group of gastroduodenitis and gastrodeodenal ulcer accounted for more than 80%. Gastroscopy without anormality accounted for a low proportion of 1,3%

Classification of lesions by Colonoscopy Group of colitis and colorectal polyp accounted for a high proportion of 25,31% and 15%, respectively. Rate of colonoscopy with normal results accounted for a rather high proportion of approximately 30%.
