If you were going to measure a country’s environmental sustainability, what would you measure…….

The ESI ranks countries on 21 elements of environmental sustainability covering natural resource endowments, past and present pollution levels, environmental management efforts, contributions to protection of the global commons, and a society’s capacity to improve its environmental performance over time.

Attempt a definition yourself- NO GOOGLE Environmental sustainability is….. Using the earth’s resources whilst also conserving them and protecting the environment for future generations

Anyone remember the MDG on environmental sustainability????? It's the seventh Millennium Development Goal: Ensure Environmental Sustainability Targets Integrate the principles of sustainable development into country policies and programmes and reverse the loss of environmental resources Reduce biodiversity loss, achieving, by 2010, a significant reduction in the rate of loss Halve, by 2015, the proportion of the population without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation Achieve, by 2020, a significant improvement in the lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers
