What rituals reveal… Ritual are a part of being human They reveal and strengthen : Beliefs, Values, & Group Identity… Example: Super Bowl Sunday- American, value teamwork, strength, competition, winning, entertainment. These American core beliefs and values passed on from one generation to the next through Super Bowl rituals. 11/18/2018

Sacraments are rituals… They are the most important rituals in our lives… They are about the past, present and future/eternal life They unite us to God and the Church They give us a higher quality of life (sanctifying grace) They help us become our best selves and get to heaven (actual grace) They reveal and strengthen fundamental beliefs of our Faith and values of our Catholic community 11/18/2018
