Coursework Evaluation

✓ ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓

Let’s look at the rubric! ALL : From TASK ANALYSIS to EXECUTION section Process: the way something is done. Outcome: the end product 9 – 12 marks Must evaluate Investigative process Did you do what the you needed to do for each section of the coursework? AND How WELL did you do it? Did you achieve the AIM of the task? AND How WELL did you achieve the aim?

4) Evaluation Review all aspects of the work done from TA to Execution: Identify strengths Explain why it was a strength Identify weaknesses Explain why it was a weakness Evaluate the Execution in more detail: What are your own comments on the dish? What were your friend comments? What were the strengths of your practical? What were the weaknesses of your practical? Write a CONCLUSION Did you achieve the aim of the task? In what ways did you achieve the aim of the task? How well did you achieve the aim?

6) To evaluate TA to Execution… Ask yourself the following questions What did I have to do for this section of the coursework? What did I find easy to do? What did I find difficult to do? Was I able to overcome the difficulties I faced? If I could do the section again, what would I have done differently? What was I supposed to accomplish for the section? How well was I able to accomplish what I was suppose to for the section?

6) Example - TA What I had to do for Task Analysis Strength Weakness   Strength Weakness What I will do differently in future How well I accomplished this section Firstly I had to highlight the keywords from the task question. I then had to find out the definition of each keyword and state how it is related to the whole task. Subsequently I had to think of related questions to each keyword to do research on. Finally I had to write a time plan from start to finish of the entire coursework. My strengths were that I was able to easily identify the keywords within the task question. I was also able to think up of relevant questions for each keyword in order to assist in my research. However, it did take me quite some time to come up with these questions which meant that I had less time to come up with the overall time plan for the whole task. In future I will start the brainstorming for questions earlier and give myself more time to complete the section as it is quite difficult. Another of my strengths was that I planned the task well. I could list all the steps required of the coursework which really helped to focus me on what I had to do at each step. Despite my difficulty with coming up with questions quickly, I feel that I was able to complete the Task Analysis section well as I generated many relevant questions and also came up with a detailed time plan.

6) Individual or Pair Work (15 mins) As individuals or in pairs, evaluate the process and outcome of completing the Research & Development section.

6) Evaluate the Execution (Practical) in more detail (Part I) Evaluate the execution DISH by DISH Put down your comments on the dish. (Did it taste nice? Look nice? Etc…) Write down your friends comments on the dish Note: Do not just write down positive things, if there are negative comments, include them too!

Example:

6) Evaluate the Execution (Practical) in more detail (Part II) Evaluate the Execution Process in more detail: What were the strengths and weaknesses of the following: Organisation Management Manipulation Product Presentation (please refer to the handout for what each section entails)

Example: Strengths Area for improvement Organisation   Strengths Area for improvement Organisation I had all the ingredients neatly placed on the table on a tray so could see exactly where everything was. This enabled me to save time and complete the practical within 2 ½ hours. While I was cooking, some of the plastic bags which I had kept my food in were left flying around on the table. Management I baked the cake for just the right amount of time so it did not burn I left the whisked egg whites on the counter for slightly too long so the eggs lost some air. This affected my cake and resulted in it not rising properly.

WHAT WAS THE AIM OF THE TASK? 6) CONCLUSION Did you achieve the AIM OF THE TASK? In what ways did you achieve the aim of the task? How well did you achieve the aim of the task? WHAT WAS THE AIM OF THE TASK? (You can put an overall summation of what you did)
