Expectations VOCABULARY AND MAP SKILLS: Vocabulary lists for each chapter. I also will focus on organizational skills and time management skills. Flip charts or note cards can be used in place of vocabulary lists. I will not count quizlet as a study tool (but it’s a great way to study). U.S. geography appropriate to curriculum time frame with an emphasis on map skills.
Expectations NOTE TAKING EXPECTATIONS: Goal: Independent Note-takers Preparation for high school and college They find something that works for themselves All notes will be available online If they are struggling- have them come see me!
Expectations Classroom Journal Students will be expected to keep a journal all year and bring it to class everyday. Topics will include reflection questions, current events, making connections from past history to the history of today and other general writing questions
FYI’S: The option to correct a test/quiz is up to the teachers’ discretion based on class performance It is required that all Ohio 8th graders will be taught a unit on personal finance/economics. Topics to be covered include: personal finance, banking basics, budgeting, role of taxes etc. The students will be required to read a non-fiction (ie. a book pertaining to our American History) more information to come
