2 What is this class about?
In civics we study government. Forms of Government Foundations of Government Governing Documents 3 Branches of Government Laws and Landmark Supreme Court Cases Globalization Being Economically Responsible Citizens

3 What is the Civics EOC? (End of Course Exam)
The EOC is a state exam that students will take in May. This exam will test students knowledge in EVERYTHING that has been covered during the school year. We begin in class reviews 4-6 weeks prior to the exam date. There are some great resource websites listed on my class website. Information (this is subject to change each year) The exam is scored on a 1-5 scale. Level 3 and up showed proficiency. The levels translated into letter grades that are then averaged as 30% of the overall grade for Civics.

4 What is this class about?
In American History we study American History beginning with the colonization and ending with Reconstruction after the Civil War. European Exploration & Native Contact Colonization Independence Revolution New Nation Growth and Expansion North and South Civil War Reconstruction

5 How can my child be successful in this class?
Students need to be in class, attendance is extremely important. Students need to make sure they are reading the chapters at home, either in the online book or workbook. Students need to pay attention in class, take notes, and complete all assignments. Parents need to make sure students read, study, and prepare for tests and quizzes. Check the website and PowerSchool regularly. How can my child be successful in this class?
