Why was Manchuria a failure for the League?

Why was the Manchurian Crisis a failure for the League? Lesson Aim: To assess how the League dealt with the Manchurian Crisis. TASK: Mini whiteboards – Write one word to sum up the League in the 1920s

TASK: Find out this information Write answers on mini – Who will be quickest? Where is Manchuria? Who invaded Manchuria in 1931? Draw a map of where Manchuria is in the world.

In a nutshell……. Since 1900, Japan’s economy/population had grown lots to a big power – affected badly by 1929 crash. Japan wanted to expand empire – Manchurian railway incident an excuse. China appealed to League – Japan refused to withdraw.

You must make a storyboard on your table to show the Manchurian crisis, p36/7 Note: (including a H/W) this will make you ONLY notes, so you will need DETAIL. Resources: Table White boards pens Playdoh Anything resources you have. End of Play: You/I have a photo of your work (we will show work on screen). Everything is packed away. 25 mins – set a time on your phone!
