Introduction Safety is top priority Accidents / injuries are unacceptable Accidents / injuries are avoidable Safety program is needed for prevention Safety is everyone’s responsibility Accident prevention has a direct impact on finances

Safety Manual Developed written plan Located in each department Can be reviewed online (S drive Administration Building) Includes procedures and guidelines Employee involvement Accident prevention Emergency planning Training requirements Hazard analysis Documentation Rules & guidelines

Safety Committee Meets second Tuesday of every other month (Starting February) Reviews injuries, policies, writes procedures, communicates issues to their department, provides necessary training

Discipline (continued) Disciplinary action (based on a case by case basis) 1. instruction and cautioning 2. written warning 3. suspension 1 to 15 days 4. termination

Accidents & Injuries Reportable Injuries (within 24 hrs) 1. Loss of consciousness 2. Restriction of work or motion 3. Medical treatment other than first aid 4. Occupational illness

Emergency Safety Plan Fire - call 9-1-1 - notify supervisor - attempt to contain fire if diminutive - evacuate to designated areas - do not leave are or re-enter building

Emergency Safety Plan Medical - call 9-1-1 when serious injury / accident occurs - notify first aid personnel and/or supervisor - supervisor to report to Loss Control within 24 hrs.

Emergency Safety Plan Tornado - Supervisor/department head or safety committee member will be issued warning through email or by weather radio - Supervisor to evacuate to lowest level in building and conduct head count - Return to workstations when warning has been lifted by NWS
