What is a target audience/market? A particular group at which an advertisement, design or product is aimed. One of the biggest mistakes budding designers make is trying to appeal to everyone

examples A toy truck marketed to kids using YouTube commercial for videos kids are currently watching. A running shoe marketed to athletic females in a runner’s magazine Flyers being mailed home would be the best way to reach an audience over 65 Group text would be the best way to reach high school students regarding graduation announcements

demographics statistical data relating to the population and particular groups within it. Age Gender Economic level Lifestyle Buying habits Location – where do they live? Where do they shop? Projected size of market How does my business meet their needs? What is unique about my business compared to others?
