What do we mean by Inclusive Growth? Growth that combines increased prosperity with greater equity that creates opportunities for all and distributes the dividends of increased prosperity fairly. Scottish Government Economic Strategy 2015 Broad-based growth that enables the widest range of people and places to both contribute to and benefit from economic success. Its purpose is to achieve more prosperity alongside greater equity in opportunities and outcomes’ RSA: Inclusive Growth Commission 2016 Current Model Grow Now Redistribute later New Model Investment in social infrastructure is an integral driver of growth where people contribute to and benefit from a new kind of growth Quality of Growth Place based & people Investment in physical and social infrastructure Integrated social and economic policy

How is Stirling’s City Region Deal delivering Inclusive Growth?

What can we learn from elsewhere? Cities and Inclusive Growth Place: Helsinki Human centric development, placing individuals centre stage. Creating a good city to live in and making the city better for everyone. Embed design concepts in their economic strategies and use design to carry out creative and effective citizen engagement and collaborative creation of services. Transport and Inclusive Growth Place: Cleveland and Leipzig Up-to-date and high quality data has been utilised to allow the mapping of the location of welfare recipients, entry-level job opportunities and existing public transport systems Re-route of transit systems to deliver enhanced connectivity. Data has also been similarly used implement an urban monitoring system to help understand population movements to guide policies aimed at enhancing connectivity.
