2 The draft ACT Planning Strategy... sets the long term planning policy and goals to promote the orderly and sustainable development of the ACT, consistent with the social, environmental and economic aspirations of the people of the ACT.

7 9 strategies set a revised direction to build on Canberra’s planning legacy and the strength of its metropolitan structure its image, role and the business of being the ‘bush capital’ position and location in a diverse region

8 9 strategies intended to create: diversity in the urban environment and greater choice in affordable, sustainable living better urban amenity and social equity resilience to change – social, economic and the potential impacts of climate change
