Overdrive Instructions Getting Started Download the Overdrive app from your device’s App Store. You can also download the Overdrive console for your computer here: http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc/ Open the Overdrive app. You will be directed to authorize the app with your Adobe ID. You can either sign in using your Adobe ID or Register for an ID at Adobe.com. This is a free service and is required to read EPUB books. Once your device is registered with your Adobe ID, you can begin to browse for books to read. You must authorize each device you plan to use with Overdrive. Browsing and Checking Out Books Computer Go to http://lovejoy.lib.overdrive.com and log in (last name_first name and student number). A screen showing the most popular books will show on the main screen. Choose from these books or search by Subjects, Collections or Levels. Click on the book you want to check out, then on the red “Borrow” button. Then choose the format you prefer Kindle or EPUB. EPUB format will work on most devices. Kindle format is specific to Kindles. You may also choose the “Read in Your Browser” option. This will allow you read the book on your computer.

Mobile Device (Kindle, iPad, iPhone, Nook, etc.) Open the Overdrive App. Click on the 3 small bars in the upper left corner of the screen. Choose “Add a Library.” Search for Lovejoy ISD by name, city or postal code. If you have an account with Allen Public Library, you may want to add that account as well. Sign in using your Overdrive login. (last name_first name, student ID) Search for books and download them to your device. Students may check out 2 books for a 2 week period. When that time is up, the books will delete from your device. Read anytime, anywhere with Overdrive ebooks!
