1 OverDrive E-book Library
By C. Toyama

2 What are e-books? E-books are electronic versions of books. They are great because they don’t take up any space in your house or add weight to your school bags. E-books are books that you can download and read on your phones, tablets and computers. Our school, along with many other schools in the Hawaii Department of Education, has invested in an e-book library for our students and staff to use free of charge. All you need are your student ID number, which you can get from your teacher, and a device to download your books to.

3 If you have a phone or tablet,
1 Download the OverDrive app 2 Click on Add a Library 3 Enter your student ID number Go to the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store and download the OverDrive app. Search for our school’s name and add the library to your app. Because it is a shared library with other schools, it will add as the Hawaii State Department of Education Digital Library. You can get your 10-digit student ID number from your teacher. Enter it into the app and you can start searching for e-books, audio books and read-along books. Your account allows you to borrow up to 5 items at a time.

4 If you have a computer, 1 Go to the KES Student Portal 2
Click on the OverDrive Link 3 Enter your student ID number Open your web browser (Chrome, FIrefox, Internet Explorer) and type in bit.ly/KESstudents in the URL box You can get your 10-digit student ID number from your teacher.
