Message from Mrs. Frierson Centennial Arts Academy News Message from Mrs. Frierson Thank you for a wonderful start to the 2018-2019 school year. We appreciate you making extra efforts to ensure that your child is in his/her classroom by 7:30 am each day. Morning announcements begin at that time, and the teachers are ready to begin the school day. If your child is not in his/her classroom by 7:40, he/she will be counted as tardy for that day. An adult will need to walk the student to the front office after 7:40. If your child is a car rider, plan to drop your child off by 7:15. This enables the students to arrive in the classroom on time. August 13, 2018 If your car is in the car rider line, please stay in your car and do not enter the school. When you come in the front lobby and leave your car in the car lane, you are delaying the start of the line. Please do not leave your car unattended in the car lane. If you have parked in a designated spot, and are planning to walk up to get your child, please remain outside the front doors. We will call your child to come to you. When you enter the building, it is difficult for the staff members to account for the safety of all children. We have many custody situations in our school and need to be able to protect the safety of all children. · Please do not park in the outside lane. That lane needs to remain open for emergency vehicles and traffic. Asbestos Announcement: During the Fall of 1991, an asbestos inspection was made of the Gainesville City School System. Based on this inspection, a management plan was written and submitted to the GA DOE. The plan contains the following information: 1) Location, amounts, and types of asbestos- contained materials in all school and support buildings; 2) Response actions to the asbestos-contained materials; 3) Plans for re-inspection, periodic surveillance and operation and maintenance programs; 4) Public notification procedures. Anyone interested in reviewing this plan may call the Gainesville BOE at 770-287-2001. Upcoming Events: Aug. 21: Curriculum Night Gr K - Gr 5 5:00-7:00 Aug. 22: Community Pep Rally @ City Park Sept. 3: Labor Day Holiday Sept. 6: Cub Scout Sign-Ups Sept. 13 Picture Day Sept. 20: Title I Info meeting 8:00 a.m. / 5:00 p.m. Morning Car Riders: Once your car stops along the sidewalk your child needs to exit the vehicle. Please do not wait until you are at the front door to have your child exit the car. Afternoon Car Riders…...we need your help! In an effort to provide a safe environment for all students, please do the following: Principal: Leslie Frierson 852 Century Place 770.287.2044 Office Assistant Principal: Chad Crumley Gainesville, Georgia 30506 770.287.2047 Fax
