First 3 Week Progress Report Examples of Great Work First 3 Week Progress Report

Points for this assignment Describe picture – 3 if you did it Symbolism – 3 1 if you answered it 2 if you were close Theme – 3 Additional comments – 3 Statement 1 – 20 4 points for each picture included Statement 2 – 20 If you didn’t refer to the prologue at all you missed 10 points

Pre-reading activity (Pictures) What could the subject or objects in this picture symbolize or represent? Two people getting married sybolizes love and happiness Need to say which object specifically and then what it means

If you had to make a statement about the theme of this picture, what would it be? Don’t let your worries put you in the grave. Need to have a STATEMENT not just one word. You can make a general statement about this word though If you said “hatred” for the fighting picture how can you make a thematic statement about this topic? Moral of the story

Summary prediction statement You needed to stick to only the information in the pictures and include every single picture to get the full points

Summary/Prediction Statement 2 You need to use details from the prologue to support your prediction summary. This means: Using quotes!!! Or at least referencing something that was said in the prologue

Foreshadowing Out of 100 points Many of you just summarized the events or made a prediction for the story If you didn’t talk about foreshadowing or graphic novel at all you got an 80 Examples of great sentences: The next frame gets dark and an up close shot of nurse possibly revealing to Juliet that the guy she kissed is a Montague, her family’s rivalry. In the first image they are kissing, showing they are attracted to each other. This graphic novel foreshadows the events by the facial expressions on the characters faces. It looks like the nurse is taking Juliet away. Then Romeo looks like he’s trying to stop the nurse. The nurse says something to Romeo and leaves. Then Juliet looks shocked. I think Juliet is still going to like him. Then, her family is still going to hate him and keep trying separate Romeo and Juliet.

Homework for Monday Finish Act 3 Finish your performance handouts I’m collecting them Monday!
