Muhammad Review: From last class and the reading what did we learn about Muhammad? Letter from Muhammad and passages from the Quran?

and Muhammad is his prophet” (pilgrimage) once in you life ISLAM Fasting during Ramadan Confession of Faith and Muhammad is his prophet” “There is only one God Prayer (5 x Day) Performing the Hajj (pilgrimage) once in you life Alms to Poor

The Beliefs and Practices of Islam The Five Pillars: Muslims must carry out these five duties. 1) Statement of Faith to Allah and to Muhammad as his prophet. 2) Prayer five times a day. Muslims may use the mosque for this (an Islamic house of worship). 3) Giving alms, or money for the poor. 4) Fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. 5) the hajj—pilgrimage to Mecca—at least once in a lifetime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM81wroj_MQ

1) The Shahada - Testimony (a)  Nothing deserves worship except God (Allah) (b)  Muhammad is the Messenger of God (Allah). Is the first part similar to any other religions?

2) Pray 5 times a day Doesn’t have to be in a mosque Face Mecca (Ka’bah) Specific times 1) Dawn/Sunrise 2) Noon 3) Afternoon 4) Sunset 5) Evening

3) Alms Money to the poor (Zakat) It is a tax of 2.5% of one's annual savings. Islamic Law stipulates that alms are to be used to support the poor and the needy, to free slaves and debtors, as specifically mentioned in the Quran (9:60)

4) Fasting during Ramadan For the holy month you are not allowed to eat or drink while the sun is up.

5) Hajj Once in your life pilgrimage to Mecca to see the Ka’bah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM81wroj_MQ
